UPDATE_19.08.24_(Memento Mori)

Hello,

I am writing this develog only to update myself to see what I did and I will do in the futur for my game called Memento Mori. I don't know if anyone would read this entirely but if that's the case, do not hesitate to play my game.

Well to resume what happened between may and august,  I released my game and post some advertisement on some social medias. The first version of my game took about six months to develop and after releasing it, I had not a lot, but a few positiv comments with some suggestions. It made me really happy that people I don't know played and appreciated my game. In the analytics section, I saw around 70 downloads and about 650 views. It's higher that I expected so a big thanks to all those people :)

I took a break for about 1 month to focus the writing part of this school project.  Now that I finished it, I can finally focus again in my game and during this break, I had an excellent idea : develop my game again.

Let me explain. During the developppement of Memento Mori, I encounter a big issue which had led to a some sort of corruption of my game (if you want to know more, tell me in the comments and I will write a new post about that). After that, even though I had a backup file, I was scared of everything while developing and I didn't like that. So, I decided to create a new game folder, where I create a copie of Memento Mori. Like that, I would have 2 versions of it.

Another reason for this decision is that I can say that the actuel version is a test version and the new one is the official version. If I do that, I can properly put away all the files in the new versions and in the test version, I can test new features for my game.

In order to do that, I will now take my time to create this new version of Memento Mori. After that, I will publish it and focus on the next levels. About them, I have some idea for the level 6 (it has a link with turning on/off lights) and 7 (maybe a level where you have to resolve a puzzle but I think I will do this in level 9).

Well that's all I wanted to say in this develog (sorry for my poor english). I love to do writing like that because at the end, you'll see the progression and the evelotion of your creation. I am really disapointed that the idea to write didn't come earlier in the developement but as we say: "it's better to be later than never".

See you soon in a new develog
